77th Infantry

77th Infantry, Third State Color. The 77th regiment was composed of men from Franklin, Allegheny, Huntingdon, York, Lancaster, Cumberland, Mercer, Fulton, Luzerne, Blair, Beaver, Lawrence, and Dauphin counties and was organized in the Fall of 1861. The regiment received its first state color on October 17, 1861. After most of the 77th was captured September 19, 1863 at Chickamauga Creek, the remainder of the regiment re-enlisted in early 1864 and received a new state color that April. The regiment was mustered out of service on January 16, 1866.

The 77th regiment was composed of men from Franklin, Allegheny, Huntingdon, York, Lancaster, Cumberland, Mercer, Fulton, Luzerne, Blair, Beaver, Lawrence, and Dauphin counties and was organized in the Fall of 1861. The regiment received its first state color on October 17, 1861. The flag was retired from service sometime after January 1863 when a replacement was requested and received. The regiment was mustered out of service on January 16, 1866.

77th Infantry, Second State Color. The 77th regiment was composed of men from Franklin, Allegheny, Huntingdon, York, Lancaster, Cumberland, Mercer, Fulton, Luzerne, Blair, Beaver, Lawrence, and Dauphin counties and was organized in the Fall of 1861. The regiment received its second state flag on May 16, 1863 when Colonel Rose returned to the front from furlough. The flag was captured on September 19, 1863 at Chickamauga Creek, but retaken in 1865. The regiment was mustered out of service on January 16, 1866.
